Grace Kim, Seattle architect and Cohousing researcher, who presented at the National Cohousing Conference and will be presenting at the Art of Community Northwest Conference on Sept 8-10, shared about teenager cohousing units in Denmark... Apparently, its not unusual for teenagers to share units in Danish cohousing community where their parents live. A few independent rooms with private baths and a shared kitchen and living room on the second floor of the commonhouse would probably make them happier. When residents children outgrow their parent's homes, they could move over to the dorm. The rentals on these units would help pay for the commonhouse as well. This is a real need for kids who do not got to college. They have nowhere to live at 18.
