Almost every community "value engineers" out (read eliminates for those not familiar with the jargon) the soundproofing or noise control features initially designed for the dining room. This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. To have a usable meeting/dining room, it have to have comfortable acoustics, and that means some method of sound control. Do anything in your power to keep the money there for that important feature. If not, you will have problems getting people there for meals, and functions.
