I know you're seeking examples of real, in-place policies, but having seen a
lot go by over time, I can suggest a complementary action: Decide in advance
what the group's precise concerns are with respect to alcohol in the CH, so
that they are on the table when you start trying to pick-and-choose. Or that
alone might be enough to suggest a set of very simple "policies" or
guidelines perfectly for your group.

E.g.,
Do want ability to include alcohol in celebrations/grown-up meals/etc.
Don't want alcohol (stored, open, leftovers) accessible to children
Don't want alcohol-related trash left in CH
Do want to maintain responsible behavior during events

Etc. -- whatever fits your group.

Hello
I am member of Camelot Cohousing and I participate on our futures
committee. We have been discussing policies for post-move in life.
One of the topics is the use of alcohol in common areas especially the
common house. We were wondering how you have handled this issue and
what kind of policies have you adopted? What are your rules for
serving alcohol at common meals and events? When someone uses the
common house like for a wedding or private party what are your rules
for serving then? Do you store any alcohol in Common areas? We are
just trying to get a sense what's legal and functional.

Thanks
Deirdre
