Hello all --

One building wonders!

I'm sure Jessie will add to this thread --Eastern Village Cohousing  

in Silver Spring, MD is a conversion of an old office building into  

56 units of cohousing and 11 units of commercial property on under  

1/3rd acre..   Takoma Village in Washington, DC is a U shaped  

community of 43 units on 1.43 acres and is technically considered 1  

building as all the homes are attached and many of them are "stacked  

units" -- sorta like apt. units.    Swan's Market in Oakland is on  

two floors of a converted market building in downtown Oakland, CA.    

I believe that Quayside in Canada is also one building.  I love  

living in close proximity to my neighbors altho' it's definitely not  

for everyone.

Cambridge Cohousing in MA has at least one building w/ a majority of  

the homes and then a second area w/ town homes (I think -- my memory  

is a little fuzzy here.)

All of these communities are urban infill.

building cohousing is unusual in the US but exists.  See BO-90
