from TAW, in Sebastopol, Ca 60 miles N of SF/Oakland Coho-L, Screening as you grow? There is another DOWNSIDE for active pre-screening for members style. By being based on fear of the wrong people, it pulls in all the other attributes that go with fear. Such as: looking for flaws, emphasizing them, gathering evidence, gossip, gathering allies etc. This can color a groups perspective very readily. Being verbal about financial needs of the group early on really helps To be a happy group, an open, generous, friendly, clear tone will be needed again and again to help you keep going through it all. All the advice you have received: "present who you are etc" will work ,and helps to build community as you go along. There may be behavioral "limits" that you will find. From my perspective there is no need to be mute about discomforts that arise and are part of gaining Clarity. Good Luck and good times to you.
