And to add to Ann's and Meda's comments -- we recently had a conflict
between parents and grillers about the grills. Parents wanted the
grills placed away from the picnic area so kids wouldn't accidently run
into them and cooks wanted them centrally located so they could watch
the food grilling and still be social.
The cooks also pointed out that if the grills were away from the group (in the parking lot) that someone would have to stay with the grills at all times -- heating up and cooling down to ensure safety. What wanted to do that?
The grills stayed centrally located (ours are portable) but we erect a plastic fence around them as soon as they are fired up. Since they are centrally located the partial fence is enough because there are lots of people around to watch the kids.
