In Wasatch Cohousing , two single women formed a limited liability company
(LLC) eight years ago when the community was being built.
Their LLC owns the unit and they each own 1/2 share in the LLC.
It was set up by an attorney after they started exploring avenues for home
ownership when neither of the women would be able to afford to purchase a house
alone.
They had been neighbors in an apartment building, and as rents were being
raised again, they started looking for a duplex to buy, and then looked into
cohousing.
Hint. You might not get a overly friendly reception if you phrase it "older
"women sharing a single house, though one of the two does admit to over sixty.
