Hello:

I am living at Ithaca Cohousing through Sunday am, so I had opportunity to
look at their community and chat with Rod this evening about
affordability.

Again, as a community facilitator, you make a mistake getting lost in
terms, e.g. Affordability. It is up to the community to map out how they
can extend homes to members who need more assistance. I now have an
understanding of Ithaca that I could not have without living on its
purpose, neighborhood development and what they are organizing in Ithaca
through other thinking, e.g. for the elderly, new neighborhood and
leveraging from what they know and have learned to build out a new village
next door so to speak.

There are systems you can build based on sound thought, e.g. Eco Village
of Ithaca that assure people can join the community that cann't afford the
build out.

You can use imagination and the power of your community to author
something unique to your geography and think through a list of options
from state programs, HUD, or private.

To apply for a grant, you have to really think about the social impact you
want to create as someone like Bill Thomas has done for the edlerly.

I am available to consult to any group of this matter and empower
creativign and imagination that is relevant and concrete.

Cordially,
Lavinia
