In the early years at Village Cohousing in Madison WI we had a CH cleaning
schedule whereby teams of two would clean the entire common house every 6
or 8 weeks.  It worked, it wasn't often, but a lot of people hated it. 
For the past several years we've instituted a new system that breaks down
larger jobs, the prime example being cleaning the CH, into much smaller
and manageable tasks.  People choose several of these tasks to do on a
regular basis, some weekly, some monthly, some quarterly.  CH examples
would be cleaning one of the bathrooms weekly, vacuuming the hallways,
vacuuming and mopping the dining room floor.  People seem much happier
with this system, tho' there some jobs don't get done as consistently as
before.  All-in-all I'd say it works.  If you'd like I can send the
spreadsheet that lists all VCC tasks currently in this new system.

Hi all in CoHo land, Juva here from CoHo Ecovillage in Corvallis.  We move
in soon, October..pretty dang happy community.  Our buildings are oh so
loverly!  We get to do some landscape planting in September.oh, to get our
hands in that dirt!  One task I have taken on is creating the cleaning
schedule for the common house..do any of you have something written up
that
you think is working well, that you could send me?
