RoseWind Cohousing, Port Townsend WA
Other than our cohousing gatherings, we have categories of "outside" use:
A Personal Social is something like a birthday party, cast party, family
reunion, retirement party. The requested donation is minimal. We've just
decided that really big personal socials should pay more, and that if it's
not a party for a family member or RoseWind resident, that it should be
treated like a Sponsored Event.
A Sponsored Event is a meeting or gathering of a group in which the
sponsoring RoseWind member is an active participant. That happens to include
about every liberal organization in town! The sponsor has full
responsibility, including being present start to finish, and assuring that
House Rules, such as noise and alcohol rules, no shoes, furry animals,
fragrances, are observed. The charge for that is based on attendance.
We don't just plain rent out to anyone who wants to use a hall, or use a
kitchen.
This has worked pretty well for 6 years.
