Thanks Maura: The law in California requires a vote by the full membership for any change in description of the property. I have pointed this out to the people in question, but their position is that if their lawyer says it's OK to act unilaterally, that is OK with them. I believe that this change needs to be recorded in the county recorders office. I feel that the lawyer needs to brush up on Common Interest Development law. She does not advertise herself as a condominium lawyer, so I expect that her expertise in this kind of law is limited. Since the lawyer is being paid out of community funds, I feel that she is representing me as well as the members of the sub-group and HOA. I have presented my concern to the whole community, including members of the Board, and have received only disagreement with my interpretation of the law. I wonder if sending her a letter pointing out the law would do any good. Norm Gauss
