Hi all -

Just wanted to briefly drag this back to the original post. As David Hornick pointed out in his response, we in upstate New York are really interested in figuring out a way of managing the sometimes unpleasant climate, especially in the winter. We have been hoping that there have been some creative responses to this - either along the lines of specific attention to site planning, covered walkways, or underground routes to and from buildings/homes. We are obviously as concerned with what it looks like, since we'll have to live with it, as with its function. (I have these unpleasant daydreams of living somewhere that looks like some space age community, with people tubes linking homes and the common house.) The only thing that we've really come across has been Windsong. I would love to here of others - or some perspectives on how other communities have handled climates with a lot of snow/cold or wind.
