Google is also getting 'street views' of some towns and cities. Lawrence, Ks was added recently. If you want to see our houses (that are along the east side of Delaware Street between 12th and 13th), trying entering 1270 Delaware Street,<http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=1270+Delaware++Street,+Lawrence,+KS+66044&sll=38.977226,-95.221982&sspn=0.015714,0.037208&layer=c&ie=UTF8&ll=38.968418,-95.224471&spn=0.015716,0.037208&t=p&z=15&cbll=38.960561,-95.227777&cbp=1,50.0510840838125,,0,5>Lawrence, Ks 66044, then clicking on street view. (848 E. 13th Street<http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=848+East+13th++Street,+Lawrence,+KS+66044&sll=38.967851,-95.223355&sspn=0.015716,0.037208&layer=c&ie=UTF8&ll=38.967851,-95.223355&spn=0.015716,0.037208&t=p&z=15&cbll=38.960005,-95.226666&cbp=1,6.773873019246821,,0,5>will end up with the view of the entrance to our parking lot, once the view is turned to the north.) Alas, their street numbering is badly off -- the '1270' location is actually about where 1228 actually is. (And worse than that, half our house numbers belong to buildings tucked in behind the street-adjacent buildings. (We're built in a double-wide block.)) And the satellite image is from before construction started. (Alas, many of the trees in that image had to go last year... ) - Linda Peckham Delaware Street Commons http://www.delaware-street.com On Mon, Apr 7, 2008 at 9:36 PM, James Kacki <jimkacki [at] mts.net> wrote: > > I often use google earth as learning/entertainment (not webcams) and > also when trying to 'get a feel' of what the landscape/terrain/ > surroundings of individual CoHo communities are like.
