We are a long-built community of 24 households on 9 acres in a liberal  
town of 8000 on the NE corner of the Olympic Peninsula in Washington.  
Not commuting distance to Seattle, but close enough for visits. We  
look out on grassy fields, but are right in town.

Port Townsend has a vibrant community life with plenty of organic  
produce, arts and music events galore (see www.centrum.org for a  
sample of our summer fiddle-tunes and blues festivals), and it's a  
waterfront town with kayaking, wooden boat festival and lots of

Port Townsend is a great place to raise children! Besides the public  
school system (which includes several combined-grades classes, and a  
high school alternative) , there are plenty of homeschool and unschool  
families, as well as Waldorf and small private school options. All of  
the town's kid activities are close by.  In addition, RoseWind's kids  
have the run of our big central field, with its playground swing set,  
and enjoy pingpong, foosball and pretend play in our common house. And  
a number of willing aunties and uncles.
