The (probably) mentally ill resident we had was a renter, which simplified matters. Arranging payment plans to catch up on unpaid rent, through multiple job changes, chewed up half a year of management's time (I was on the committee that year), but otherwise was of little concern to the community. However, when the parents in the community became alarmed, it served as a lever to get him out, pronto. Then we spent the other half of the year fixing the apartment. He'd redecorated (oh my god ...). Kay
