Moving on... those that decide to leave cohousing

Fortunately, cohousers don't have to "pick up the whole ballpark and
go home" - they just have to sell or rent their cohousing homes and
move.

Your image of "going home" is probably most apt for those who have
become disillusioned with Cohousing then "move on." Those who move for
other reasons are often very sad about leaving their communities. Its
fortunate that sellers often get a premium price, letting them move on
in better shape. Resales create openings for newcomers to "buy into"
cohousing - without the arduous phase of developing real estate.

PREMIUM PRICE? Says who?

I recently received an academic study that shows this for the Seattle
market (within the limits of the study). I got permission from its
author and will be sharing more about this in one of the large
sessions at the Conference (probably the Sunday Closing).

We will also get the study documents posted on the Cohousing Movement blog:

before we ship the next issue of Cohousing Now! (probably next week).
