Cohousing-L Mailing List: Green Building awards to Cohousing project

Many congratulations to Hundredfold Farm for recognition of all their rigorous 
planning and hard work to accomplish a very sustainable community.

 

I know Eastern Village was recognized also with multiple awards for 
environmental sustainability.

 

My suggestion is that it might be a good idea to create a web link to a list of 
all the great awards being given to cohousing communities, similar to the 
compilation of the news items listed on the web site.  

 

I have no idea how complicated this is, how much server capacity is required 
for each new website page, or how expensive the maintenance is, but I think it 
will be beneficial in the months ahead to have a quick link to a summary of all 
the environmental awards already received and the many more expected in the 
months ahead as the rest of the world recognizes what we have been doing for 
the past twenty years.

The GBACPA (Green Building Association of Central PA) honored Hundredfold
Farm Cohousing in Orrtanna, PA with its award for Innovation In Design
at an April 16th, 2009, Annual Green Building Awards Ceremony to recognize
premier green building design projects throughout Pa.
 
Hundredfold Farm was a runner-up for water efficiency and was the only
private residential project cited.
