At Sharingwood we employ a member as bookkeeper. For late payments, if you have a balance due later than 90 days the unpaid balance accrues interest at I think 8%. We used to run our bulk food program with in-house accounting which meant someone could get a substantial unpaid balance. Now we operate that system on a pay as you order which has reduced our unpaid accounts to a very minor level. Also the treasurer, who is separate from the bookkeeper makes personal contacts with late balance owers to understand their situation.
