I have done this a few times. In our state it is really expensive to get corporate or group insurance for a vehicle, its more than twice the rate than regular. So what we did was have the person with the best insurance rate own and insure the vehicle. Then we divided up the monthly costs per person. We started out with a mileage record but that got too complicated so we went with a set monthly fuel fee. This raised a bit more money than we spent (we had a gas credit card) which went into a maintenance fund. Scheduling was pretty easy most the time and being in a community if there was a glitch we could almost always find another car to borrow. If I were to do it again, and I probably will, I would add an extra bit for maintenance and repairs to the monthly fee. Rob Sandelin Sharingwood Community Snohomish County, WA
