I think some communities have added to their goals the design of an architecturally exemplary community. As if they are doing this odd thing, it has to be better than they had before. While I think the way the facilities support social interactions and the way facilities are cooperatively maintained are integral to cohousing, it is also important to remember that being house-poor nationally got us where we are today.

i have thanked myself many times over for not taking advantage of inflated home prices to take out a larger mortgage. And I think about downsizing even more.

I've found that even though people talked about downsizing when they moved in, many have upsized now by buying larger units as they become available.
