I have just ordered a fabulous new tool to help develop cohousing communities. 
It is an educational DVD set and handbook produced by and available from 
Mid-Atlantic Cohousing (MAC) http://www.MidAtlanticCohousing.org.

It features interviews with a trio of top coho developers - Leach, McCamant, 
and Tucker. They speak the language we need to make our coho case with 
authority and professionalism, and framed to make sense to the 
developer/investor mentality. 

MAC's web site goes on: "It presents the advantages and challenges involved in 
building cohousing communities that are green and sustainable. Groups or 
individuals looking for a developer or investor will also find this a useful 
tool for learning about the development process. There is an accompanying 
hardcopy Case Study Handbook which is packed with detailed information on the 
cohousing process."

Our developing project, Legacy Farm Cohousing in Rosendale, NY, will use it 
initially for membership development, because it gives a brief and compelling 
rationale for Why Cohousing? We may also use it to help a prospective developer 
or investor get comfortable with this unfamiliar development model.
