which results in rules (or guidelines, or expectations, or guideance, or whatever language doesn't push your buttons.)

So that new people know what has happened, old people remember what has happened, and people without "reading non-verbal expression skills" can be a part of the community.

I hope it was clear that I am biased strongly in favor of writing down rules (guidelines, expectations, guides, etc.)
