I should add -- as if my previous message wasn't long enough! -- that for
the first several years we were having about three meals a week for
twenty-five to thirty people, plus or minus, and special events for forty to
fifty. SRO; we've got maybe thirty-five dining room chairs.

Shared meals have dwindled :( to a weekly potluck, maybe a cook-team meal
every month or two, plus (still) community parties, large holiday potlucks,
private family parties, fundraisers, hosted events for groups that one
resident or another belongs to. Weekly potluck attendance is anywhere from
five to twenty, depending on weather, long weekends, how fraught community
meetings and listserv discussions have been recently, how many zucchini the
gardeners have left like foundlings in the mailroom .... Below half a dozen
diners, we handwash, or take dishes home to our own dishwashers and return
them later in the week.
