The Sacramento Bee has published a heartwarming story about N Street Cohousing, in Davis, CA, titled "A Village that Loves Lucy." The N Street residents have proved that a community can pull together in an extraordinary way. Today, the neighborhood starts its three-day Thanksgiving celebration. There will be sweet potato pudding, stuffing and a salad of curried beets and walnuts in memory of Rebecca Hammann, a pioneering resident of N Street who died last year just after Thanksgiving. During her final days on earth, Hammann taught many of the 60 other N Streeters how to prepare her favorite recipes. She also left them a beloved treasure: the vivacious Lucy Rose Xiao Gui Hammann Wolf-Cloud, her 4-year-old adopted daughter, who has become a living, laughing testament to N Street's commitment to community.
