At Two Acre Wood we chug along with 2 meals a week, sometimes less.  
It's been pretty consistent since we chose Thursdays and Sundays as  
our preferred days a few years ago. Sometimes there are few weeks when  
it's only one or even none, mostly in the summer when lots of people  
are away.

We do have a terrible problem getting people to clean.

We decided long ago not to have assigned days or teams and instead to  
have an ad hoc organization (is that an oxymoron?)  whereby someone  
picks a day, finds a helper and cooks the meal on their own  
initiative.  We have a few very dedicated cooks or we'd have far fewer  
meals. One was recently cancelled due to no one volunteering to clean.

We all agreed to cook or clean once a month if we are participating in  
the meals, but that is not tracked and therefore doesn't always happen.

I've just made a chart to put in the common house for people to cross  
their names off when they've done one or the other for the month. We  
are also attempting to draw in our teens.....
