(In a different category, obviously!) When I looked at the criteria for this awards program I thought: cohousing communities could sweep these awards. PLUS they have a really hard time getting enough entries so the competitive field would be to cohousing's advantage.
When the new Awards info is posted this year I hope more cohousing communities will enter. I think the community has to have been finished w/in the last year to qualify so this would be for new coho communities. But I'm not 100% sure!

Two cohousing projects were recognized by AARP and the National Association of Home Builders for the Livable Communities Award. Schemata Workshop was awarded in the architect category for Daybreak Cohousing in Portland, OR and Eldergrace in Santa Fe, NM was awarded in developer category. Thanks to whomever it was that posted the awards program to the list last year! It is notable that 2 out of 5 awards went to Cohousing projects!Perhaps this will be a tipping point for cohousing! grace h. kim schemata workshop (sent via mobile messaging) _________________________________________________________________ Cohousing-L mailing list -- Unsubscribe, archives and other info at: http://www.cohousing.org/cohousing-L/
