Rick and/or others:

Please clarify. Does this mean that one should honor only existing union contracts and not organizing efforts or what? I don't want to jump to any contusions; I just don't know how to interpret the statement.

Hi Moz

It is my understanding that, although the union may well end up representing
the employees, they do not yet.

I believe that we do not need to acquiesce in the oppressive practices
of hotel management. At the same time, I do believe that we need to
accept or participate in all of the tactics of the union in order to
support their just cause.

The employees are explicitly asking us not to attend that venue and you want
us to overrule them because you know better. I'm sorry, but I can't accept
that. Supporting the union means honouring their request. It's not rocket
sceince, it's not even a big thing to ask.

I have to say though, I can't enter the US so my decision not to attend the
conference was made for me.
