Thanks for posting this Tom.

Here is a short URL to the article in case that one is problematic:

I read the first 2 (of 7) pages aloud to my family doctor wife.
We were impressed. Then I got side tracked on refreshing my memory
about the author - Dan Buettner (who I sort of remembered - he lives
here in MN and has spoken on MN Public Radio ) :

Dan Buettner (born 1960 in St. Paul, Minnesota) is an American
explorer, educator, author, public speaker and co-producer of an Emmy
Award-winning documentary who also holds three world records for
 endurance bicycling

>From there I followed some links to
http://www.bluezones.com/ (about places where people live longer)
http://www.bluezones.com/about/dan-buettner/ (16 minute video that
includes some conclusions about factors that lead to communities
of long living people (no silver bullet - silver buckshot)

http://www.tedmed.com Tedmed holds an annual confernce
about the ideas that came out of the bluezones studies.
It costs $5000 to attend but there are live video streams to
auditoriums around the country. Map of 2012 sites:

Another of Dan's TED talk that has had over a million views:

TED is a nonprofit devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. It started out
(in 1984) as a conference bringing together people from three worlds:
Technology, Entertainment, Design.

Note I searched for "cohousing" at TED and found no videos / talks.
However there were 18 hits at "community profiles" about people
registered at Ted who mention cohousing including our Raines Cohen.

Who is going to make a TED talk on cohousing - it is certainly and
Ideas Worth Spreading. Maybe how a cohousing community could become a
little bluezone?

Fred
