listserve management

Our community listserv runs on Mailman, hosted for many years now by a local non-profit organization. (It didn't start out on Mailman but transitioned to it some years ago.)

All of a sudden some community members who use yahoo, aol, and other non-gmail email are having problems staying connected to the listserv, because those email services have adopted an anti-phishing protocol called DMARC and are applying the protocol so broadly that their email users can't post to a Mailman-type listserv. It's a mess! The non-profit host told me they don't have the resources to deal with this problem and suggested we find a different solution for our listserv.

I'm the list-admin, and I'm techie enough to understand the problem but not quite techie enough to figure out what to do next. I'd like to bring some options to our Electronic Communications subcommittee. Any ideas out there?

I've researched GroupServer and Sympa, and my eyes started to glaze over as I got into the details, so I decided to ask here, in case other communities also use Mailman and are facing the same problem.

I should add that I really like the functionality and convenience of an automated mailing list, and a number of our members are strongly anti-Facebook which has been suggested as an alternative to a listserv. I don't know if you need to have a yahoo or google email account in order to use their mailing lists or what their pros and cons are.
