I wonder how often these very arguments are used when talking about social 
justice issues?

For instance one of my favorites is:  when asked about providing a ramp for 
people with wheelchairs the answer often is -- we don't have any disabled 
people in our community. Yep that's true. And you never will. 

While many areas of the country may not have the density of nonwhites that 
Washington DC has truly you can't be telling me that there are so few 
minorities in your community that reaching out to them would prove 
statistically pointless?  

I'm not buying that argument.
