Hello all!

Mid Atlantic Cohousing, a regional non-profit comprised of 10 regional 
cohousing communities, has a new website!

At this site you will find a list of local upcoming events (and sometimes some 
national ones, too!), resources to educate yourself about cohousing or to help 
in organizing your cohousing group, photos of the local communities and some 
special FREE downloads when you subscribe to the site.  There is also a blog.  
MAC expects to send out an occasional newsletter with tips and more in depth 
pieces about cohousing.   And we'll send targeted alerts when an event or issue 
is imminent.  MAC doesn’t spam or trade names.

Ok.  

That’s all the shameless marketing stuff.  Do subscribe but that’s not why I’m 
writing this.

I’m writing this to you because I, Ann Zabaldo of the seriously digitally 
impaired, created and launched this new website myself using WEEBLY 
(http://www.weebly.com) which includes an email sign up process from a third 
party, MAILCHIMP (http://www.mailchimp.com)  See my first blog post on the new 
website which has slightly more detail.

After struggling for YEARS w/ a Word Press site, retaining a webmaster, 
throwing things at the display screen … I’d had enough.  What I discovered is a 
world of web-based website building programs that do almost everything Word 
Press does with far less angst.  Literally it’s drag n drop. You want a photo?  
Drag it from your desk top to the window and PLOP!  It’s done.   It’s sooooo 
simple.  And the basic version is FREE.  FREEEEE!

My apologies to the webmasters on this list that make their living creating 
websites.  You may wish to drop kick Word Press and check out this far simpler 
web building tool.  And for all of you out there just beginning your cohousing 
journey when you have more time but no money … WEEBLY.COM may be an answer to 
your budget restrictions.

NOTE:  be smart and view the introductory video.  In 60 minutes you will learn 
everything you need to launch into building your website.  Weebly provides tons 
of easy to understand and navigate training materials.  If you get stuck you 
can email for help.  If you buy the STARTER or PRO versions you get iChat 
and/or Phone support respectively.

Mail Chimp was a little but only little more challenging.  Great support from 
Mail Chimp, too.  And it’s amazingly FREE — up to 2,000 contacts and 12,000 
(yes you read that correctly!) emails per month!  I don’t think I’ll reach that 
limit anytime soon …
