Well stated Crystal.  These are questions I would wonder about as we go
along as well and also for the 'cohousing movement' in general.

Not sure if there is one simple answer but I'm curious what others have to
share about it.  After all, each community has its own personality and will
respond to things differently.

As a society though, we will certainly have to come up with ways to
accommodate as you state clearly, the need for community as well as
flexibility, and, I will add, sustainable and healthy situations as well -
on all levels (socially, physically, spiritually etc).
