Kitchens aren’t likely to be used all day like a single household kitchen might be, but when it is used, it is used. A lot of people, a lot of water, no one sweeping up in the moment, lots of grinding feet. The surface becomes rough and is difficult to keep clean. We have a commercial cleaner to all our linoleum (only some is Marmoleum) once a year, It isn’t nearly enough to keep the kitchen floor with a gleaming surface. It should faintly glow when clean and properly polished. We have already replaced our cork as well. Cork fades so when tiles are replaced, they will be different colors. Some of our residents were uncomfortable with that. Cork also has the sound absorbing quality. Sharon —— Sharon Villines Takoma Village Cohousing Washington DC
