Parking Issues

One way I have read about to solve part of this issue is to have a pool of
available cars.  This is structured as a seperate corporation from the
cohousing community.  There are several different kinds of cars available for
use.  Some sort of formula is used to decide how much it cost each time you use
a car.  Sometimes per mile or per day is used to calculate the charge. This is
like an internal car rental company.  Once people get used to having a rental
available they might feel more like getting rid of their car or one of their
cars thus freeing up some parking spots.  One car costs an owner about  $10,000
per year.  If this can be shared by more than one than one family that is a lot
to that family.  Hope I made this somewhat clear.
