First Ever Santa Cruz County Cohousing Tour!
Come tour three different models of cohousing in Santa Cruz County.
Cohousing is a form of intentional community characterized private
homes clustered around shared common space, regularly scheduled common
meals, meetings and workdays, resident management and participatory
decision-making.  Cohousing intentionally fosters greater
connectedness between neighbors.  Shared spaces typically include a
common house with a large kitchen and dining area, meeting areas,
guest rooms and laundry and may include community garden space,
workshop or craft space and exercise room.  Cohousing is more
ecologically sustainable: smaller homes clustered homes allow for more
open space, and lower heating and cooling bills, and greater sharing
of tools, rides, childcare etc....

Coyote Crossing: Santa Cruz's earliest cohousing community. This
16-unit community has a mixture of single-family houses and duplexes
on five acres on the Westside of Santa Cruz.

Walnut Commons: This 19-unit cohousing on .3 acres brings urban
cohousing to the heart of downtown Santa Cruz. New Brighton Cohousing:
This 11 unit retrofit community is situated on .9 acre, a half mile
from Cabrillo College in Aptos.
