Covid protocols

Dear Ann, and others, the demoralizing part for me is not about ships
sailing. It's about folks here being willing to sail with them possibly
without even questioning their direction.

More importantly, I am here pouring my heart out about how lonely the world
feels to me, and how sad I am when I see some of the very institutions I
have been hanging my hopes on for a better tomorrow (ie, co housing), using
the same wording as the institutions I so very much wish to leave behind.

And instead of compassion or some attempt at connecting, I get accused of
harassment, and told that "the ship has sailed" so we might as well all
fall in line. That does not feel aligned with the values that lead me to
seek community.

I read every email here because I long to connect with others who are
willing to question the protocols, verbiage, and concepts which the greater
majority just sail away with. And I know there are plenty others here who
agree about this.

I love your posts Ann. I am just really disappointed to see any community
here going along with the social distancing meme. Please consider that
even if the "ship has sailed" elsewhere, intentional community members
don't need to get on board, and are known for building their own ships.

Diana, all I can say is, you sail with whatever ship you like. And I hope
you don't expect others to get on board with you if you dismiss their
concerns about the direction it's heading.

with continued care and concern, (even if others call it harrassment),
melanie
