This is also open source in the sense that Sean Davey, who developed the 
software, shares the source code so he will host a site or you can host your 
own site. I don’t think it is a collaborative project but that may have 
changed. He’s been working with it for over a decade.

A collaborative software would be really welcome but reinventing the wheel may 
not be necessary. At one point I tried to gather people around a Wordpress 
project so everyone could contribute to an open source project. The problem is 
that people interested in developing software want to develop their own 
software starting from scratch and being free to use various programming 
languages. Something like Wordpress is too limiting — it has already been done. 
But even using Wordpress, the learning curve is too high for others who really 
don’t have time or “that much' interest.
