Hi Cohousing-L subscribers,

At the conference I received comments about the excessive quoting
on Cohousing-L. This is especially problematic for digest subscribers
(most subscribers) who have to scroll past the bottom quoting to get
to the next message in the digest. (see helpful suggestion below)

Please delete most of quoted material from replies that is not needed
to provide context for your reply. If readers need more context they
can check the archives: http://lists.cohousing.org/archives/cohousing-L/

I also got a number of expressions of appreciation of Cohousing-L.
If you appreciate Cohousing-L, please show it by limiting the quoting
in replies. Note that your reply will be more likely to be distributed
immediately (ie not held for review - see below)

I plan to repost more messages after deleting excessive quoting. Such
messages are sometimes held for review because the quoting makes them
exceed the 12K byte limit for posting (without review). This is in
addition to quoted digests.

** GETTING PAST EXCESSIVE QUOTES IN DIGESTS
(That is, getting to the next message in a digest.)

There is a work around for digest subscribers to get to the next
message in the digest and skip the rest of the current message:

Search in the digest for "Message:" or even "age:" (without quotes) to
find the beginning of the next (numbered) message. Most excessive
quotes are at the end of messages, when you've read as much as you
desire of a message, search for the next message (often you can repeat
the search). For more details see: http://justcomm.org/jc-faq.htm#Q8.6
