Have you tried a digital antenna. Depending on how close you are to big
cities you could have a significant number of channels for free. Augment
that with your pay service of choice and you should be able to keep
everyone happy.

nowhere and so only get 5 out of 5 available channels (your service should

This is an outdoor antenna which can be mounted so you get a good signal
and then connected to your tv with a long coax cable. There is even a
program you can run which takes your address and tells you which way to
point the antenna. You should not need tin foil or a colander. You will
likely find that PBS is in another direction. You could point the antenna
that way. The cost of the antenna is a one time cost, no monthly fees.

I see that PBS is available though tv.youtube and prime video.
