At the Cohousing Conference in Madison in 2022, I had the pleasure of an
impromptu conversation with the building team at Arboretum Cohousing. We
sat and discussed HVAC systems, lighting, hot water and other mechanical
systems. It was delightful. It was a conversation that I could not have
with my home community members. It made me realize that there must be one
or two people in each community that have no one to discuss systems with. A
discussion about boilers and testing glycol is not as welcomed as a
conversation about relationships and community. Heck, it is even nice to
talk to someone that understands the buzzwords used. Arboretum has a cool
motion detection system that runs lights at 25% or so when no motion is
detected and then 100% when motion is detected. I would love to hear more
about how this was accomplished. We have a couple of options for motion
detection based on whether motion turns on one light or all lights.

The question is... if I set up a mail group on groups.io for conversation
between mechanical teams, would people be interested?
