It was posted by Neil from the Cohousing-L management team :: cohousing-l-owner [at] cohousing.org and I gave it a relevant (as best I could) subject line. Neil -=- Dear Coho Companions, At River Song we are motivated to improve our sustainability by using some of our distributable cash for solar pv generation. It turns out that our electric power provider is not supportive of solar and our climate is not in a solar sweet spot. That leads me to think of, instead of building solar on our Eugene Oregon site, co-investing in community solar in a more solar-rich location. I would appreciate any and all thoughts from other cohos about this way of using cash to support the earth and earn a reasonable return. A second related question is about becoming a non-profit organization. We have been advised that such a change would bring more solar rebate benefits. Any input about that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all for making cohos more vital and sustainable.
