I was also not being defensive — I was objecting to the idea that cohousing is somehow less diverse than the general population and less welcoming than other intentional communities. And that Zev’s message was typical of the kind of microaggressions that exclude people from cohousing. Cohousing communities can continue to work with individuals on specific concerns and feelings, but discussing generalities and hypotheticals isn’t leading to greater understanding or clarity. I’m sure everyone has learned from this interchange but we can’t resolve things that are so non-specific.
