Yes, there are quite a few cohousing professionals, including development consultants. What the cohousing movement doesn't have is developers who are able to put up the cash or obtain the financing required to buy land and get a project built (except maybe UD+P?). This means that the future residents have to finance the project themselves, which is an impossible hurdle for many groups.
