At Village Hearth Cohousing in Durham, NC, we have several units for sale at the same time (all are on our website at villagehearthcohousing.com). We are discussing on our Marketing Team how best to assist homeowners in the sales of their homes, how best to assure that potential buyers are well informed about the participatory nature of cohousing , about the special nature of our community, and are ready to be good members. Our question is, how best to reach the right markets without an advertising budget in midwinter, as mortgage rates rise and national home sales may be slumping? We do the usual things—monthly Zoom meetings with interested parties to inform them about us; a monthly newsletter; Facebook; careful maintenance of a database of hundreds who have expressed interest over the past 8 years…And of course we keep current with national organizations (such as this one!) to share best practices and information. Do any of you have suggestions that go beyond these, or ideas you have tried to attract the best potential cohousing members? We are an over 55 community, with a focus on attracting the LGBTQIA+ community. Sent from my iPhone
