Re: Looking for examples of software coho use to manage

There are two cohousing/intentional community specific software
suites -- Gather and Mosaic.

Note: IMHO, they both have problematic names -- names that do not
identify them very well and I find hard to remember. Since both use
common English words for their name they are easily confused with
other uses of the words/names. Try searching the web for either
without including "cohousing" in the search spec...

Both are open source (about "open source:
 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_and_open-source_software )
Both are developed by people who live in cohousing, both are
 Cohousing-L subscribers.
Both suites can be self hosted but I suspect most communites
will opt for using them hosted at the developer.
They have different "business models".
"Mosaic is free. We'll host your site for free"
Gather hosted by Gather is on a subscription basis. $1 - $3 /member/month

Mosaic https://cohousing.site/ (formerly / aka http://zenlunatics.org )
principal developer: Sean Davey <sean [at] sonoracohousing.com>

Gather https://info.gather.coop Worker-Owner Coop
principal developer: Tom Smyth <tomtomsmyth.ca>

Both have been discussed on Cohousing-L quite a bit.
Search the cohousing-L archives
(at http://lists.cohousing.org/archives/cohousing-L/ or via
links at the bottom of every message )
for example:
gather mosaic software ( 37 hits)
gather or mosaic and software ( 751 hits)

There is a mailing list Discussion group on software programs for
cohousing that was active in mid 2022 with little since. It's archives
are for subscribers only. https://groups.io/g/CommunityRootCellar
