We have a schedule to clean every 3 weeks the Common House including laundry 
room, guest room, workout room,kids room and of course the greatroom/dining/ 
kitchen and both bathrooms.  Every household is responsible for a particular 
cleaning week and they either do it themselves sometime that week or they hire 
someone to do it (we have several regular cleaners who know the drill and have 
been doing it for years who are available to hire ).  There is a list of 
cleaning tasks that is kept in the cleaning closet so everyone knows what is 
expected.  This system works pretty well. Once in a while we will include 
special cleaning tasks such as steam cleaning the carpet in the kids room or 
the couch or wiping down all the pantry shelves and changing the shelf paper, 
as a workday task.  We have 10 workdays a year and folks are expected to 
participate in at least 4, many do all 10.  Shopping for the pantry and 
cleaning supplies is a workday task.

sheet to take them on. Any member can sign up, though there are a few who
like this task and are more likely to take it on. One member oversees the
list and signups to make sure everything is getting done.
