We do likewise. We have a page of monthly cooking and cleaning signups, and
then another page of chore sign ups-- garden, landscaping, sweeping, recycling
etc.--posted each month on the common house bulletin board. Officially, adult
owners need to put in 7 hours per month and renters 4 hours per month. Anyone
can sign up for anything, but the same people tend to choose the same chores
(esp on the cooking and cleaning side). For a while we compiled and posted the
hours per person every several months to encourage compliance with the hours
target. We have not done that lately and I am certain there are wide
disparities in how many hours put in. Would not be a big deal to return to
monitoring and enforcing this, so we'll see if people are upset enuf about
disparities to do that.

I am happy to share our chore list template with anyone who thinks it might be
helpful.

We have a cleaning checklist with weekly and monthly tasks, and a signup sheet
to take them on. Any member can sign up, though there are a few who like this
task and are more likely to take it on. One member oversees the list and
signups to make sure everything is getting done.
