Re: Limited equity cohousing?

I am presently exploring options with Community Land Trusts regarding
estate planning for receiving real estate assets upon resale of units or
death of the owner. What are you learning about how a condo association can
donate an individual parcel to a CLT?

I can certainly see the prospect of a joint project to construct a new
cohousing community with a CLT holding the land. This would enhance the
affordability of each unit, and by extension, the diversity and inclusivity
of the community. But there are deed restrictions and limits on profits
that owners can take when they sell. Other complexities, I'm sure. . .

The other question would relate to how the community is organized---condos?
co-op? stand-alone homes on contiguous parcels? Something else? What about
common-use buildings on the property?

Definitely worth researching.

Please keep me posted. JJ
