What? Why is there a need to make everything political?

The Federal Government (Trump) has authority over federal stuff - including how
the federal government gives money to states or universities or lots of other
things.

Any "DEI is canceled" type mandates do not directly impact anyone not receiving
federal money.

Dean makes misinformation statements: > From the news of the past two days,
Cohousing had better eliminate all DEI efforts per latest Trump order, or face
investigation. Maybe that would be good publicity.

I respond with facts. ." ... so if a private organization – such as a Co Ho
community wants to continue DEI or whatever – there is nothing preventing
that." And suggest we should not participate in whacking the hornet's nest.

One additional thing that is worth considering however involving efforts to do
coho things a certain way - and I have encountered this often in the past
talking to co-ho people wanting to have a "only this type of person" coho
(based on religion, or orientation, or other things). In the USA - everyone is
subject to federal fair housing laws which prohibits discrimination in housing
based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, or
disability. CoHo is real estate and is also subject to these laws.

I'm not an attorney, but based on my real estate experience I typically would
suggest that all communities should somehow "advertise" their value system -
but they need to be careful to invite everyone to participate.

I hope this feedback is helpful to someone.

Everyone be positive - good things will happen.

Ty

But Trump wants to investigate 'elite universities' which still do DEI? Hmm.
