The Membership Team at Daybreak Cohousing in Portland, Oregon is studying how Fair Housing laws affect our community, specifically information that we share with potential members. Our "big" question is: What constitutes preferential treatment and how is that different from being discriminatory? We have many specific questions that are unique to living in multigenerational cohousing, such as our requirements for participation, limitations such as informing potential buyers that we are *not* an assisted living facility, or contextual safety concerns. We welcome your feedback and ideas on how to navigate this. Thanks, Lisa Kuntz Membership Team Daybreak Cohousing Portland, Oregon
